组蛋白,是一种将DNA包装成染色质的蛋白质,参与了基因表达的调控。组蛋白赖氨酸的甲基化在基因调控中发挥着重要的作用,在组蛋白赖氨酸甲基转移酶(KMTs)和组蛋白赖氨酸去甲基化酶(KDMs)的控制下此过程可逆。
曾有报道指出,KDM亚类,KDM2,KDM4,KDM5和KDM7与肿瘤的发生有关。Suzuki、Miyata等人开发出的N-(9-Cyclopropyl-1-oxononyl)-N-hydroxy-β-alanine(NCDM-64),可以选择性的抑制KDM2/7。因此,NCDM-64有望被用作抗癌药物。
