Niceritrol is an ester of nicotinic acid [N0082] that suppresses free fatty acid (FFA) release from fat cells, and thereby lowers cholesterol and triglycerides in total plasma. Niceritrol also has peripheral tissue vasodilatory activity, and some studies suggest that niceritrol increases prostaglandin formation. In addition, niceritrol might be cause of hypophosphatemic action and thrombocytopenia and anemia, but the mechanisms of the actions are still unclear. (The product is for research purpose only.)
