Finasteride: The First Type2 5α-Reductase Inhibitor
Finasteride, the first type2 5α-reductase inhibitor, blocks the conversion of testosterone [T0027] to 5α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) [A0462] in target organs such as the prostate and scalp hair. Finasteride also has been studied for its ability to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer. (The product is for research purpose only.)
