Application
Propafenone Hydrochloride: A Sodium Channel Antagonist (Blocker)
Propafenone hydrochloride is an orally active sodium channel antagonist (blocker). Propafenone works by slowing the influx of sodium ions into the cardiac muscle cells, causing a decrease in excitability of the cells. Moreover, propafenone also has β-adrenoceptor antagonist, potassium channel antagonist, and weak calcium channel antagonist activity. Propafenone is used as a class Ic antiarrhythmic agent. (The product is for research purpose only.)
