Application
Tropicamide: A Muscarinic M4 Receptor Antagonist
Tropicamide is a muscarinic M4 receptor antagonist. Tropicamide produces short acting cycloplegia and mydriasis when applied as eye drops. Tropicamide has an action similar to atropine [A0754], but its cycloplegic and mydriatic effects have a more rapid onset and a shorter duration of effect. Tropicamide is slightly soluble in water and in diethyl ether, freely soluble in ethanol and in chloroform. (The product is for research purpose only.)
