Application
Mepivacaine Hydrochloride: A Local Anesthetic of the Amide Type
Mepivacaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic of the amide type which includes lidocain [L0156], mepivacaine hydrochloride [M2560], prilocaine hydrochloride [P2038], bupivacaine hydrochloride [B3925] and articaine. Mepivacaine is rapidly metabolized in liver, and is rapidly excreted via the kidneys. It has been reported that mepivacaine and procaine [P1961] have less toxicity than other local anesthetics.
