Application
Cinnarizine: A Calcium Channel and a Histamine H1 Receptor Antagonist
Cinnarizine, a piperazine derivative, is a calcium channel and a histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Cinnarizine inhibits contractions of vascular smooth muscle cells by blocking calcium channels. In addition, cinnarizine increases erythrocyte deformability and decreases blood viscosity. Cinnarizine also exhibits anticonvulsant properties. Cinnarizine is used widely in the treatment of circulatory disorders. However, cinnarizine-induced parkinsonism has been reported. (The product is for research purpose only.)
