Application
Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride: A Muscle Relaxant Acting on the Central Nervous System
Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride is a muscle relaxant acting primarily on the central nervous system, and is structurally similar to tricyclic antidepressants. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to the brain. The exact mechanism of action is still not clear, while a research appears to indicate that it acts as a 5-HT2 receptor antagonist.
