Visible Light Photoredox Catalyst for Decarboxylation Reactions
Acr-450 (1) is a visible light photoredox catalyst with an absorption maximum around 450 nm (Figure 1) and can absorb light of longer wavelength than MesAcrMeClO4 (2), an analogue of 1. 1 can be utilized in decarboxylation reactions and sequential halogenations and the reactions proceed in high yields even when about 1 mol% of 1 is added. Furthermore, 1 is applied in the SNAr type substitution reactions and the desired products can be obtained in not inferior yields compared with conventional catalysts.
1 was manufactured under the permission of Shionogi Pharma Co., Ltd. (WO2022107755).
