Trazodone hydrochloride is a triazolopyridine derivative antidepressant that belongs to the class of serotonin receptor antagonist and reuptake inhibitors (SARIs). The mechanism of trazodone’s antidepressant action is not fully understood, but is thought to be related to its enhancement of serotonergic activity in the central nervous system (CNS).
