Application
Prolinamide Catalyzing Asymmetric Aldol Reactions
Experimental procedure: 4,6-Dibromoisatin (25 mg, 0.082 mmol) is added to a mixture of N-(2-thiophenesulfonyl)-L-prolinamide TFA salt (1.5 mg, 0.004 mmol) and water (14 μL, 0.8 mmol) in acetone (1.2 mL, 16.4 mmol) at 0 °C. After stirring for 8 h, the solvent is removed under reduced pressure to give a residue that is purified by column chromatography (hexane:EtOAc = 1:1) to give (R)-convolutamydine (29.6 mg, 99%, 95% ee).
