Liensinine: An Autophagy/Mitophagy Inhibitor
Autophagy is known to regulate innate and adaptive immunity affecting the pathologies of infectious, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases. Liensinine is a major bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid found in the seed embryo of lotus (Nelumbo nucifera). Liensinine inhibits autophagy/mitophagy. It has been reported that liensinine has a wide range of biological activities, including anti-arrhythmic, anti-hypertensive, anti-pulmonary fibrosis, relaxation on vascular smooth muscle, etc. (The product is for research purpose only.)
