Isosteviol: A Bioactive Hydrolysis Product of Stevioside, a Natural Sweetener
Isosteviol is a hydrolysis product of stevioside [S0594], which is a natural sweetener produced in the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana.1) Isosteviol has been reported to exhibits wide biological activities including anti-hypertension, controlling blood lipid, reducing blood glucose, antibacterial, anti-inflammation, anticancer, etc.2,3) Besides, isosteviol is used as a useful chiral building block in organic synthesis.4-6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
