Application
Rhodium-catalyzed [4+2] Coupling Reactions of Cyclobutanones with Olefins through the C―C Bond Activation
Typical Procedure:
In a nitrogen-filled glovebox, a 1 dram vial is charged with [Rh(C2H4)2Cl]2 (1.9 mg, 5 mol%), tris[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]phosphine (16 mg, 24 mol%) and 2-amino-3-picoline (10 µL, 0.1 mmol). A solution of starting material 1 (32 mg, 0.1 mmol) in dioxane (1 mL, 0.1 M) is added and the 1 dram vial is capped and the solution is maintained at 152 °C for 48 h. The reaction is removed from the glovebox and purified by flash chromatography. Product 2 is obtained as a bright orange solid (28 mg, Y. 87%).
