Application
Methylenation Reagent
Typical Proce: To ester (224 mg, 0.85 mmol) in dry THF (2.5 mL) at 0 ℃ is added Tebbe reagent in toluene (0.5 M, 1.7mL). The mixture is allowed to warm to room temperature and, after 30 min, Et2O (10 mL) is added, followed by the slow addition of aqueous NaOH (0.1 M) while stirring the mixture. After gas evolution cease, the mixture is dried (Na2SO4) and filtered through Celite. Evaporation and chromatography give enol ether(175 mg, 79%).
