Astragaloside IV: The Main Tetracyclic Triterpenoid Saponin Contained in the Root of Radix Astragali
Astragaloside IV (AST-IV) is the main tetracyclic triterpenoid saponin contained in the dried plant roots of the genus Astragalus (Radix Astragali), which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine.1,2) It has been reported that AST-IV has various pharmacological effects including anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, antioxidative stress, anti-asthmatic, antidiabetes, immunoregulation, and cardioprotective effect via numerous signaling pathways. 3-5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
