Application
Flufenamic acid: An Ion Channel Modulator

Flufenamic acid has been known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent since the 1960s which can interfere with prostaglandin synthesis. Recently, flufenamic acid has been reported as an ion channel (e.g. TRPM) modulator. TRPM (transient receptor potential melastatin) is a family of transient receptor potential ion channels which play critical roles in mediating cellular responses to a wide range of physiological stimuli that can induce cell death.
