Tolbutamide: A First-Generation Sulfonylurea Oral Antihyperglycemic Agent

Tolbutamide is a first-generation potassium channel blocker, and a sulfonylurea oral antihyperglycemic agent. The sulfonylurea type agents reduce blood glucose levels by blocking ATP-gated K+ channels and thereby cause depolarization of the pancreatic B-cell membrane to stimulate insulin secretion. (The product is for research purpose only.)
