GW 6064: The First Non-Steroidal and Selective Farnesoid X Receptor (FXR) Agonist
The farnesoid X receptor (FXR) is a bile acid-activated nuclear receptor (BAR) expressed primarily in the liver and intestine.1) FXR plays important roles not only in bile acid, lipid metabolism, and carbohydrate homeostasis, but also in inflammatory responses.2) GW 6064 is the first non-steroidal and selective FXR agonist with decent submicromolar potency and has been used to study the role of FXR in dyslipidemia, diabetes, obesity and cancer.2,3) (The product is for research purpose only.)
