Application
Betahistine Methanesulfonate: A Histamine H1 Receptor Agonist/H3 Antagonist

Betahistine methanesulfonate is a structural analog of histamine [H0146, dihydrochloride] that acts both as a partial histamine H1-receptor agonist and histamine H3-receptor antagonist in neuronal tissue. Betahistine increases histamine turnover and release by blocking presynaptic H3-receptors and inducing H3-receptor downregulation.1-3) Reportedly, betahistine increases in vestibular blood flow, and is used as an antivertigo agent in clinical.2,3) Recently, it has been reported that betahistine induced the recall of forgotten memories in mice.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
