Mediator for Organic Electrochemical Reactions
Recently, organic electrochemical reactions have attracted much attention due to their high functional group tolerance and high energy efficiency, and have been applied to the total synthesis of natural products.1,2) N-Hydroxytetrachlorophthalimide (TCNHPI) is utilized as a mediator in organic electrochemical reactions. So far, the scalable allylic C-H bond oxidation of terpenes such as valencene and steroids using TCNHPI as a mediator have been reported.3)
