Palladium-Catalyzed Three-Component Reaction for the Synthesis of Imidazolidinones
Jia et al. have reported the palladium-catalyzed three-component reaction for the synthesis of imidazolidinones. According to their results, the reaction of 2,3-allenylamines, isocyanates, and organic halides in the presence of a catalytic amount of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) affords the corresponding imidazolidinones. This method offers several advantages such as good functional-group tolerance, mild reaction conditions, high yields, and easily accessible starting materials (diversity), which will be of broad interest for medicinal chemistry.
