Eugenol is a phenylpropenic bioactive component in the essential oils of several plants belonging to the Lamiaceae, Lauraceae, Myrtaceae, and Myristicaceae families. Its versatile biological and pharmacological activities1) have been reported including antimicrobial,1-3) anti-inflammatory,1,4) anti-oxidant1,5) and anticancer activities.1,6) In addition, eugenol-containing dental materials such as zinc oxide-eugenol (ZOE) are frequently used in clinical dentistry.7) (The product is for research purpose only.)
