p-Sexiphenyl for the Improvement of OFET

No.191(December 2022)
S0220
p-Sexiphenyl (= 6P) (1)

In organic electronics, the optimization of molecular orientation and grain structure is crucially important for performance improvement. A variety of methods and materials has been developed to control the morphology of organic semiconductor film. For p-sexiphenyl (1), it has been reported that insertion of its molecular layer can improve the morphology of overlying organic semiconductor layers and increase the performances of organic field effect transistor (OFET) devices.1,2) It is suitable for small-molecule semiconductors that have high crystallinity such as DBTTT (2), and it is easy to fabricate the molecular layer of 1 by vacuum deposition regardless of substrate material. A feature article about performance improvement of OFET using 1 is available on the TCI web site from the below link.
