Bifendate (DDB): A Chemical Synthetic Intermediate of a Constituent of Schizandra sp.
Bifendate (dimethyl diphenyl bicarboxylate: DDB) is a chemical synthetic intermediate of schisandrin C, a constituent of Schizandra sp. which have been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a tonic and sedative.1,2) At present, DDB is widely used as a hepatoprotective agent and is recently found to possess immunomodulatory, as well as neurobehavioral potential.2-4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
