Palladium(II) Trifluoroacetate: An Efficient Pd-Catalyst for Coupling Reactions
No.153(December 2014)
Palladium(II) trifluoroacetate [Pd(TFA)2, 1] is similar to non-fluorinated palladium(II) acetate [Pd(OAc)2] and is used in the oxidation of alkenes and formation of C-C bonds. Hartwig et al. have reported Pd(TFA)2 catalyzed regioselective intermolecular hydroaminations of olefins, in the presence of a strong acid.1) Also, Pd(TFA)2 is occasionally superior in palladium catalyzed coupling reactions.2)
