Application
Amlodipine Besylate: A Long-Acting Dihydropyridine-Type Calcium Channel Antagonist
Amlodipine besylate is a long-acting dihydropyridine-type calcium channel antagonist or blocker (CCB) that causes vasodilatation by blocking the influx of calcium ions through L-type calcium channels in cell membranes. Amlodipine besylate is slightly soluble in water, sparingly soluble in ethanol and soluble in methanol. Recently, some combination agents with an angiotensin II antagonist (ARB), such as irbesartan [I0859] and valsartan [V0112], are used for the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. For your reference, [P2406] is an impure substance in the synthesis of amlodipine besylate. (The product is for research purpose only.)
