A Mild and Efficient Catalytic System for Beckmann Rearrangement
Yadav et al. have reported a mild and efficient catalytic system for Beckmann Rearrangement. According to their results, a wide range of ketoximes are converted into the corresponding amides or lactams by using bromodimethylsulfonium bromide in combination with zinc(II) chloride as a catalyst. The operational simplicity, general applicability, use of inexpensive catalyst, relatively fast reaction rate, and high yields make this protocol an attractive and valid alternative to existing methodologies.
