Thiamethoxam: A Neonicotinoid Insecticide
Insecticides with a mechanism of action similar to nicotine [N0079] are called neonicotinoids. Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid insecticide, such as dinotefuran [D5560]. Neonicotinoid insecticides works an insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) agonist. Recently, the impact of neonicotinoid pesticides on pollinating insects (e.g. bee) has become a concern.
