Flurbiprofen Axetil: A Prodrug of Flurbiprofen
Flurbiprofen axetil (LFP83) is a prodrug of flurbiprofen [F0371] which is a racemic non-selective and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the 2-arylpropionic acid (2-APA) class. Flurbiprofen axetil is metabolized by esterase in blood, and then flurbiprofen is metabolized by CYP2C9.1) Only (S)-flurbiprofen inhibited prostaglandin biosynthesis in vitro. The lipid emulsion of flurbiprofen axetil is used for clinical.2) (The product is for research purpose only.)
