Application
Sodium Gualenate: A Water Soluble Derivative of Naturally Occurring Anti-Inflammatory Agent
Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) is one of the important medicinal herb native to southern and eastern Europe. Extracted from chamomile, guaiazulene is known to reduce inflammation in the tissue. Sodium gualenate is a water soluble guaiazulene derivative, and the anti-inflammatory mode of action of sodium gualenate does not involve prostaglandin biosynthesis inhibition but appears to involve inhibitory activities on leukocyte emigration and histamine release. (The product is for research purpose only.)
