Application
Moxidectin: A Macrocyclic Lactone with Anthelmintic Activity
Moxidectin, a macrocyclic lactone, is an anthelmintic and a semisynthetic methoxime derivative of naturally occurring nemadectin. It is well known for the action against a broad range of animalparasites. The precise mechanism of action is unknown, but studies with nematodes suggest that moxidectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCl), gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors and/or ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, causing muscle paralysis and death of the parasite. (The product is for research purpose only.)
