Application
Econazole Nitrate: An Imidazole Antifungal Reagent with other Activities.
Econazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal reagent which is very closely related structurally to another imidazole derivative, miconazole nitrate [M1769]. It has broad-spectrum antimycotic activity. In addition, it is reported as a blocker of Ca2+ influx, and an inhibitor of steroid aromatization. Recently, various drug delivery systems have been reported to enhance the drug antifungal activity.
