Application
Monensin Sodium Salt: A Monovalent Ion-Selective Ionophore Antibiotic
Monensin sodium salt is a monovalent ion-selective ionophore antibiotic, and facilitates the transmembrane exchange of principally sodium ions for protons, and therefore it shows a variety of biological properties including Golgi. Through its ability to affect pH and the sodium-potassium balance of a cell, monensin can induce cell death in Gram-positive bacteria. (The product is for research purpose only.)
