【Disposal】After dilution with twice the volume of toluene, ethyl acetate is added dropwise into the Grignard solution under ice cooling, then quenched by 10% ammonium chloride solution. The resulting organic and aqueous layers after a separation procedure are disposed. The aqueous layer should be neutralized before disposal.The above is only one example of inactivation and following the disposal procedures in our laboratory.
