Application
Gestrinone: A Steroid Hormone with Anti-Estrogenic and Anti-Progesterone Properties
Gestrinone is a synthetic steroid hormone with anti-estrogenic and anti-progesterone properties. It is used to treat endometriosis, shrink uterine fibroids and reduce menorrhagia. Besides, it is investigated for use as emergency contraceptive. Also, due to its anabolic effects, it was included in the banned list of performance enhanced drugs in sport. Therefore, the effective detection of gestrinone and its metabolites in human urine has been studied. (The product is for research purpose only.)
