Application
Decursin: A Phytochemical with Anticancer and Diverse Biological Activities
Decursin is a phytochemical originally isolated from the roots of Angelica gigas Nakai which is a major medicinal herb in Asian countries such as Korea and China.1) Traditionally, its dried root has been used to treat anemia, pain, infections and articular rheumatism. The extract from the herb, decursin, has diverse biological activities. There are reports that decursin is an anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and neuroprotective agent.1-3) Decursin is also a potent protein kinase C (PKC) activator, and induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in G1 phase.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
