Nintedanib: An Orally Available, Small, Multiple Receptor Tyrosine Kinases Inhibitor
Nintedanib (BIBF 1120) is an orally available, small indolinone derivative that inhibits multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), including platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) α and β, fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) 1-3, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR). Nintedanib competitively binds to the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding pocket of these kinases and blocks the intracellular signaling cascades that have been shown to be involved in the pathogenesis of fibrotic tissue remodeling in interstitial lung disease (ILD). (The product is for research use only.)
