Application
Dapansutrile (OLT1177): An Orally Active NLRP3 inflammasome Inhibitor
Recently, it has been reported that the NLR family pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3), a pattern recognition receptor, forms a complex called the NLRP3 inflammasome in response to irritant metabolites and pathogens and induces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18. The NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in a wide range of diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Prion diseases, type 2 diabetes, and some infectious diseases. Dapansutrile (OLT1177), a β-sulfonyl nitrile compound, is an orally active NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor with anti-inflammatory activity. (The product is for research purpose only.)
