Application
BMVC: A Fluorescent G4 Ligand with Telomerase Inhibitory Activity
Guanine quadruplexes (G4s) are non-Watson-Crick four-stranded nucleic acid structures held together by noncanonical G-G base tetrads. Recent studies indicate their existence in vivo and their involvement in various biological processes.1) BMVC, a fluorescent G4 ligand, can be used not only as a fluorescent probe to image endogenous and exogenous G4 in living cells,2,3) but also as a reagent to arrest cancer growth by inhibiting telomerase activity and regulating gene expression.3-5) Thus, BMVC is an invaluable reagent for detecting G4 in cells, investigating the biological function of G4, and guiding the development of anti-cancer agents.5,6) (The product is for research use only.)
