Application
Arcyriaflavin A: A Potent Inhibitor of Protein Kinases
Arcyriaflavin A is an important member of the indolocarbazole alkaloid family, and was first isolated in 1980 from the slime mold Arcyria denudata.1) This family has potential therapeutic application in the treatment of cancer because of its ability to inhibit protein kinases.2,3) Thera are reports that arcyriaflavin A inhibits cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK49 and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII).3,4) It also inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis of endometriotic cyst stromal cells (ECSCs).5) In addition, arcyriaflavin A has been used a key synthetic intermediate of indolocarbazole alkaloids such as staurosporinone [T4000] which is a protein kinase C (PKC) and leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) inhibitor.6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
