Principles of TCI-UK Code of Conduct

With a mission of “Serving society through Chemical Reagents” Tokyo Chemical Industry UK Ltd. ("TCI-UK") acts as a responsible member of society while providing quality reagents, expanding the limits of research, and serving the advancement of chemistry.
  1. Respecting Laws and Ethics
    TCI-UK respects not just the required laws and regulations, but ethics and sound business practices.
  2. Improving Customer Satisfaction
    TCI-UK strives to develop safe and quality products that meet the needs and desires of researchers in order to gain their trust and satisfaction.
  3. Environmental Awareness
    TCI-UK works to contribute to environmental preservation during its business operations.
  4. Sound Business Practices
    TCI-UK respects the law and follows fair and open market competition practices. TCI-UK avoids any and all dealings with criminal or otherwise antisocial forces and parties.
  5. Harmony with Society
    TCI-UK contributes to and harmonises with society as a good corporate citizen.
  6. Global Consciousness
    As a global company TCI-UK respects and works to further understand applicable laws and business practices, as well as contribute to social and economic development.
  7. Respect for Human Rights
    Under all circumstances TCI-UK respects human rights and avoids discriminatory practices or any other rights violations.
  8. Providing a Safe and Convenient Workplace
    In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, TCI-UK strives to provide a safe and good work environment while respecting the rights of its employees.

TCI-UK Code of Conduct

Tokyo Chemical Industry UK Ltd. ("TCI-UK") sets the Code of Conduct based on the Principles of TCI-UK Code of Conduct.
[I] Respecting Laws and Ethics
TCI-UK respects not just the required laws and regulations, but ethics and sound business practices.
  1. Following company principles TCI-UK takes moderate actions complying with local, global, as well as international laws, rules, ethics, and societal standards. If aware of any conduct violations, immediately report to a company superior or the relevant division in charge.
  2. During business operations any wrongdoing such as intentional falsification or actions detrimental to the profit of TCI-UK will not be taken. If an activity appears to fall under one of these categories, report to a company superior or the relevant division in charge.

[II] Improving Customer Satisfaction
  • From production to sale, TCI-UK always strives for safety and quality. Any existing regulations for safety are not only met but exceeded.

  • [III] Environmental Awareness
    TCI-UK works to contribute to environmental preservation during its business operations.
    1. Considering the importance of environmental preservation, TCI-UK complies with all environmental regulations and willfully strives for efficient resource use and resource and energy conservation.
    2. TCI-UK recognises the importance of environmental preservation for all business activities. TCI-UK not only follows regulations regarding the environment but actively strives to exceed them.

    [IV] Sound Business Practices
    TCI-UK respects the law and follows fair and open market competition practices. TCI-UK avoids any and all dealings with criminal or otherwise unlawful organisations and parties.
    1. Antimonopoly Law Compliance
      In compliance with the law, TCI-UK avoids collusion or other abuse of its market position in order to preserve fair and free competition.
    2. Fair Trading
      TCI-UK engages in sensible trade with integrity as a first priority.
    3. Preventing Unfair Competition
      TCI-UK will never acquire or use competitor information obtained under unfair circumstances. If aware of unfair obtainment, such information will not be utilised. Likewise confidential information or secrets of other companies will not be used.

    [V] Harmony with Society
    TCI-UK contributes to and harmonises with society as a good corporate citizen.
    1. TCI-UK will never deal with antisocial forces which threaten social order and safety, nor try to resolve any issues with such parties through monetary payment.
    2. TCI-UK will not engage in business with antisocial forces or with any companies they may be affiliated with.

    [VI] Global Consciousness
    As a global company TCI-UK respects and works to further understand local laws and business practices as well as contribute to local social and economical development.
    1. Respect for Laws, Ethics, Culture, and Customs
      TCI-UK respects for local and overseas laws and ethics as well as other countries’ cultures and customs. TCI-UK strives to be a sensible, fair, and just global business operation.

    [VII] Respect for Human Rights
    Under all circumstances TCI-UK respects human rights and avoids discriminatory practices or any other rights violations.
    1. TCI-UK respects employee’s individuality, personality and its variety, never discriminating against nationality or race, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, age, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief.
    2. TCI-UK will never engage in violence, slander, defamation, intimidation, harassment, or other human rights violations.
    3. TCI-UK members will never engage in sexual harassment, power harassment abusing authority, or even giving the impression of harassment, or otherwise creating an unpleasant work environment.
    4. Personal information is strictly controlled and only used for specific business purposes. Such information will never be disclosed or leaked to outside parties improperly.

    [VIII] Providing a Safe and Convenient Workplace
    In accordance with local laws and regulations, TCI-UK strives to provide a safe and good work environment while respecting the rights of its employees.
    1. TCI-UK respects labour laws and strives for a safe, healthy, and convenient work environment.
    2. Ensuring a safe and sanitary workplace while understanding and following work regulations is a top priority for TCI-UK.
    3. To minimise the impact of accidents or disasters, TCI-UK will immediately take any necessary actions such as investigations and reports when an accident happens.
    4. TCI-UK follows company rules as well as office disciplines.
