A Chelating Agent having High Sequestration Capacity
trans-1,2-cyclohexanediaminetetraacetic acid monohydrate (CyDTA)(1) is a chelating agent having high sequestration capacity. Chelating agents capture ionized metals in various industrial water and work to remove some chemical hindrances caused by metal ions. 1 forms coordinate bonds to multivalent metal ions at a 1:1 molar ratio in water. In addition, 1 shows higher chelating ability than ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Therefore, 1 is an efficient chelating agent and has been widely used in industrial fields.
