Application
Cefaclor: A Second Generation Semisynthetic Cephalosporin Antibiotics with 3-Chloro Group
Cefaclor is a second generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotics which possesses a chemical structure substituted with chloro group for the 3-methyl group present in cephalexin [C2248] molecule. Cefaclor is active against a wide range of commonly encountered bacterial pathogens, acting by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. The antibiotic activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial pathogens are several times more than that of cephalexin.
