Application
Lufenuron: A Chitin-Synthesis Inhibitor for Insects
Lufenuron is a chitin-synthesis inhibitor for insects. Chitin is a long-chain polymer of N-acetylglucosamine, and is a primary component of the exoskeletons of arthropods, such as crustaceans and insects. Lufenuron inhibits the production of chitin in insects. Without chitin, for example, a larval flea will never develop a hard outer shell (exoskeleton). Therefore, lufenuron is used as an insect growth regulator insecticide. (The product is for research purpose only.)
