2'-Deoxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)uridine: A Base-Modified 2’-Deoxynucleoside Used in Oxidative Stress and Cancer Studies
2'-Deoxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)uridine is a base-modified 2’-deoxynucleoside with anticancer and antiviral activities.1,2) It also acts as a diagnostic biomarker for oxidative stress in mammalian cells.3,4) Therefore, it has been reported to be used as an indicator of cancer.
