Application
A Derivative of Cyclopropenone (CPO) to Precisely Modify the N-Terminal Cysteine Residue

Due to the active ester moiety, CPO-PFP is used as a cyclopropenone (CPO) incorporating reagent to react with primary amines. The cyclopropenone (CPO) moiety can precisely modify the N-terminal cysteine and does not react with non-N-terminal cysteine residues or other nucleophilic side chains. After the N-terminal modification of proteins with CPO, it is possible to introduce two different modifications on a single protein targeting the cysteine residues by treating internal cysteine residues with other cysteine modification reagents.
