Anwendung
Selamectin: A Macrocyclic Lactone of the Avermectin Class of Anthelmintics
Selamectin is a macrocyclic lactone of the avermectin class of anthelmintics, which includes ivermectin [I0819].1,2) The mechanism of action of selamectin is not fully understood, but it is strongly suggested to be related to glutamate-gated and GABA-gated chloride channels in nematode muscles and nerves.3,4) Selamectin binds with high affinity to the nematode’s chloride channels. As a result, the nematode is believed to be paralyzed. (The product is for research purpose only.)
