Application
Loperamide Hydrochloride: An Opioid Receptor Agonist in the Gastrointestinal Tract
Loperamide hydrochloride, an opioid agonist, reduces gastrointestinal motility in animals and human through activation of opioid receptors in the gastrointestinal tract. It cannot readily cross the blood-brain barrier, and does not appear to exert opiate activity in human. Loperamide is used as an antidiarrheal agent. (The product is for research purpose only.)
