3,3'-Diaminobenzidine is an enzymatic substrate that reacts with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide to form a brown precipitate that is insoluble in water. DAB is used in dot blotting western blotting and immunohistochemical staining to detect HRP-labeled antibodies.1,2) DAB staining kit includes DAB solution, hydrogen peroxide solution, and reaction buffer for easy use. Each reagent is contained in a dropper bottle, which both allows you to add a fixed volume of reagent to the reaction and helps prevent chemical exposure.
